Description
Each dog is lovingly made out of handcrafted solid laminated macrocarpa slabs. They are good outside for several years and are finished in Wattyl Solarguard with the back stained in Wattyl Aquatech Oil Stain.
This installation was made for the Sculpture on Shore exhibition 2021
In today’s society, our landscape has changed. Smaller sections, bigger houses and often both partners will be out all day at work. While our houses are left unattended during work hours, our animals are left to fend for themselves and not all cope with this separation.
What is usually a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood can soon change when someone goes out to work and leaves behind a mourning dog. Do the owners really know what their dogs do all day? Do they care? It is not the dog’s fault. These are loveable friendly creatures that just need attention and freedom.
